Formed in 2002 in Jacksonville, Florida by vocalist Wally Wood, and former OTEP guitarist Lane Maverick, with original drummer Keith Ogarra, Allele quickly became a force to be reckoned with in the local Hard Rock scene, selling out shows around Jacksonville. The band began writing and playing songs from what would become their debut LP Point of Origin, garnering local buzz and attention from major labels. In 2005 Allele played local Rock Festival PlanetFest 6, alongside Shinedown, Nonpoint, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, and Cold, where they met fellow Jacksonville native, and Cold guitarist, Kelly Hayes, who would soon depart Cold and join the band full-time as the second guitarist.

While fielding major label offers, the band relocated to Los Angeles, and connected with former COLD associate and major label A&R and Marketing executive Thom Hazaert, now running powerhouse independent label CORPORATE PUNISHMENT RECORDS, who signed the band in 2005.

After recruiting final members Giancarlo Autenzio (drums), and Tim Tobin (Bass) the band enlisted Switched vocalist and producer Ben Schigel (Chimaira) to produce Point Of Origin released in October 2005. Origin quickly became a Hard Rock staple, with tracks like “Closer To Habit” and “Stitches” gaining national radio attention, with “Stitches” being licensed by WWE for their “Smackdown Vs. Raw” franchise in 2007, and by TNT as the main theme for the Stephen King anthology series “Nightmares and Dreamscapes”.

The band hit the road in support of Origin, headlining clubs and radio shows with fellow Corporate Punishment artists Trigger Point, and joining Switched as support on their Ghosts In The Machine Tour. The band also became a favorite of Razor 94.7 in Green Bay, WI, performing several times at their EDGEFEST and LOCAL EDGEFEST.

In 2006 after internal personal disputes in the band, vocalist Wally Wood left the band, who briefly toured with a replacement vocalist before going on an indefinite hiatus.

In 2011 Wood returned and reconvened Allele with an updated lineup featuring Hayes, Tobin, Autenzio (who would be replaced shortly after by current drummer Dusty Winterrowd), and guitarist Mason Romaine, who wrote and recorded what would become their second album 2011’s NEXT TO PARALLEL, recorded with Pete Charell (TRAPT) and Paul Lapinski, featuring the single “Let It Go”.

Supporting Next To Parallel, the band toured including major festivals including a 2012 appearance at Welcome To Rockville, and 95X Fest, before signing a recording and licensing agreement with MTV/HYPE/Sony Extreme Music, re-recording versions of several Point of Origin tracks including "Closer To Habit", "Stitches", and "Immune", which were mastered at Abbey Road for licensing.

This revamped lineup, with the addition of current guitarist Joey Rodriguez, would continue to play periodic shows over the next decade, while the songs enjoyed continued life through robust licensing, appearing in Dancing with the Stars, Cobra Kai, Road Rules, and many more, with over 10 million plays on streaming platforms.

Wood continued the band under the name FEED THE WOLVES, writing and demoing several new songs, until 2025 when it was announced he had reformed ALLELE with a new lineup, once again featuring Winterrowd, along with Rodriguez, bassist Tyler Hensley (Year of the Locust) and guitarist Billy Grey (Fozzy), and would release new material and play shows for the 20th Anniversary of Point of Origin.
